Over a year after losing her title, UFC star fighter Ronda Rousey will return to the UFC 207 Live Stream to face current champion, The Lioness Amanda Nunes for the Women’s Bantamweight Championship. The two faced off for the first time at the NYC weigh in, intensity and excitement palpable ahead of the 30th December UFC 207 Live Stream in Las Vegas. The return of Rousey was an emotional one, following her loss at UFC 193.
The inaugural holder of the title and first female fighter to be signed with UFC, Rousey held the Women’s Bantamweight Championship belt for a record 1,074 days. Her loss last November to Holly Holm was unexpected, Rousey being favourite to win. The fight resulted in her first crippling defeat, losing the title and ending her undefeated streak. Rousey is reportedly in fighting shape and with her track record of 12-1, is the favourite to win at UFC 207 Live Stream. Following the fight with Holm, Rousey faced medical suspension from UFC, but was cleared in December 2015.
This will bring the first opportunity for current champion, Brazilian Amanda Nunes, to defend the title since defeating Meisha Tate at UFC 200. Nunes made her debut in the Octagon in 2013, winning the fight by TKO against Sheila Gaff. Nunes has held the Women’s Bantamweight Championship since July 2016.
The UFC 207 Live Stream will be co-headlined by Dominick Cruz and Cody Garbrandt for the UFC Bantamweight Championship. Like Rousey, Cruz was the inaugural holder of the Bantamweight Championship, which he retained for 1,117 days before losing to Brazilian, Renan Barão. He successfully retained the championship from T.J. Dillashaw at UFC Fight Night in January 2016. Former two-time UFC Heavyweight Champion, Cain Velasquez will also feature against Fabricio Werdrum in a likely heavyweight title eliminator bout to take on current champion, Stipe Miocic.
The showdown at UFC 207 – Nunes vs Rousey – will take place on UFC 207 Live Stream on 30th December from Las Vegas. Once again, all bets are on Rousey.
